Originally due to take place this September, Interior Lifestyle China, the country’s leading international event for the consumer goods sector, will now be held in September 2022 at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre. The decision was made due to travel restrictions likely remaining in place in the lead up to the fair, impacting international participation in the event.
Interior Lifestyle China to return in September 2021 with restructured product zones supporting industry recovery
In light of industry disruption caused by Covid-19, Interior Lifestyle China 2021 will adopt an apt new show theme: ‘Life Re-connect’. Taking place from 16 – 18 September, the fair will support business recovery by providing a live, physical event, in conjunction with additional online services. The adjusted show dates were chosen to better fit into the global event calendar. Moreover, this year, a structural change to the product groupings will see products allocated in new zones to better suit domestic buyer’s needs and their distribution channels. Interior Lifestyle China will once again be held at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre.

China’s leading international trade fair for the consumer goods sector, Interior Lifestyle China, is to be postponed from its September 2020 date, and will now take place in September 2021 at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre. With the fair’s focus on serving China’s growing consumer goods import market and the international makeup of the exhibitors (27 countries & regions in 2019), Messe Frankfurt made this decision to give these companies more certainty in their planning for the remainder of the year given the possibility of travel restrictions remaining in place.

In total, 437 exhibitors from 27 countries and regions participated in the 13 – 15 September fair (2017: 395, while the 23,570 visitors in attendance represented a 2 per cent increase compared to 2017.

Interior Lifestyle China returns from 13 – 15 September at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, breaking the fair’s record with nearly 440 exhibitors set to take advantage of the peak trade fair season in China’s home and lifestyle industry, and maximise synergistic opportunities. Interior Lifestyle China’s position, as the country’s only international fair for the mid and high-end markets, has attracted increased participation from more international brands looking to establish themselves in the highly-profitable Chinese interior design and lifestyle market.

With the recruitment period for exhibitors still ongoing, the confirmed participation of overseas brands is already higher than 2017. International exhibitors can also benefit from a new, innovative promotion campaign pre-fair to increase their brand awareness and test products in the market. Around 400 Chinese and international companies are expected at the fair which will once again be held at the majestic Shanghai Exhibition Center from 13 – 15 September, which coincides with the peak sourcing period for the industry in Shanghai.
